This band whose name sounds like a strange religion got it's start under a different name and changed it before arriving at their 3rd and current name. They formed on Long Island in 1967.

The original singer was touted by NYC record execs to be the next Jim Morrison but they missed the mark with that assertion. Their sound technician replaced him and he is a core member of the band in its current incarnation. (They are still actively touring on small circuits.)

They recorded their first album under their current name in 1972. After 3 studio albums and one live record they had only a cult following. In 1976 a track from their 4th album (and the song was a bit of a departure from their usual style) screamed onto the US charts and gained them instant mainstream noteriety.

What is the current name of this band? Who is the lead singer?

For bonus: What were their original and second names and what song made them mainstream artists?

Very good!

BTW...Oaxaca was never officially used. Stalk-Forrest was used to obscure that they were SWU after a few "bad" gigs.

BOC's best stuff is on the 3 albums BEFORE The Reaper was released. Yeah I was a fan before they went mainstream.

I'm a fan of pretty much all their music. I'm pretty tired right now (long weekend) so I'll post mine tomorrow.

This singer is a former member of a Heavy Metal band from the 70s who has made an excellent solo career. He was fired from the band mentioned above due to substance abuse (unreliability due to the drugs). He has kicked his habit and still performs today, albeit not very often since 2006.

Name the artist, the band, and the name of his manager.

Oh way too easy!

John "Ozzy" Osborne
Black Sabbath
Sharon Osborne

The first song I learned to play on bass was Paranoid. Been a Sabfan since the first album was released. N.I.B. was the best tune from album one and Paranoid's finest is War Pigs.

This 1980's band is considered to have been the pioneer of a movement named for a UK city.
Their most successful song depicted an "alternate" picture of the crucifixion.

Name the band, movement and song.
