My school friend's new hubby specialises in lego products. He said alot of engineers use lego to try out prototypes before presenting a working model.
There is so much stuff now it has gone beyond just brick houses with different windows and doors like when I was a kid.

Ya I use them for roughing out my 3d models / keeping it solid in my mind.

and I enjoy building robots and making them fight to the death.

na it's boring really, involves 20 sided dice, some spreadsheets, and a small hammer. 0.o

Think Battletech or d&d with minifigs you can break as they take damage.

If i could afford a pair of mindstorms kits i actually could make them fight.

Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots were the best.

Howard Stern was once going to finance a giant life sized version of this game but it never happened. I wish he did, it would have been great.
