I used to let my hens roam free and kept a small area in the barn for them. They'd nest in the boxes I gave them and sometimes at night they'd roost in the trees.

Everything in there was the Perdue jumbo size, hand fed, steroid chicken, expensive as hell, I search around and finally found the chicken that I saw on 20/20 being thrown at the wall by the chicken farmers. That was much cheaper.
