I was not cut out to have your standard punch the clock type job. I fucking hate it.
I was meant to be a cowboy, a fighter pilot, a outlaw biker gang member, a hobo, a drifter, a, a, damnit, any damn thing.
Maybe I'll go to hair cutting school and learn to do up womens hair. I'm gonna act all gay, wear a frilly shirt and shit and get more ass than a toilet seat.

Anyway, I did like 5 different jobs today like all at the same time almost....bastards....I hate working.

One of the advantages of being a truck driver is that I don't have anyone breathing down my neck while I'm working. Well, aside from the cops that is. My schedule is kinda flexible and I get to do a variety of trips. Mostly I run from here in central Pa. to Elizabeth, NJ but I do run to different places sometimes.
(Western PA, lower tier NY, places in DE, MD and once in a while to OH) We have a few runs to Erie and the Buffalo area as well as to Chicopee, MA and St. Albans, VT and a run to somewhere in ME. ( I wanna do the St. Albans run just once damnit! it's to Ben and Jerry's! )

I'm not thrilled that I have to gt out of bed often times at 1AM but the good part is that I can get done sometimes before noon and once in a while by 8AM! The trade off is that there are times I don't finish till 6 or 7PM.

I'm lucky that I can work from home and don't have a boss, but those damn phones start ringing at 7am and don't stop untill 7pm. Thats a good thing because it means we are busy, but I need a week off from talking to assholes on the phone all day. I think the cell phones are giving me a brain tumor.

We also have a lot of people call for jobs and never show up. My neighbors son is a single father and he told my husband he's not willing to work for any less than $15/per hour and he will only work certain jobs. So he gets a check, food stamps, and a $40 gas card every couple of weeks that he sells for $30 to buy weed instead. Why the hell should he get a job when the goverment will just keep paying for him to be a fucking bum.

$15 / hour is barely a living wage. Is he asking for this off the books so he can continue to get welfare? I wouldn't hire him for the sheer demand on "only working certain jobs" crap and obviously even if he never said that, his work ethic is nil.

Yeah, welfare has become quite elite in some states.

I remember when I was a kid if you were on welfare you got nothing. You got shelter and foodstamps and medicaid and you had to budget your money. There was no allowance for clothes and food. They were considered a luxury item. That's why all the projects were built in cities where transportation was abundant. You didn't see them going up in suburbs and rural areas.

At least that's how it was in NYC. My mother had to help a lot of the tenants budget their money from the govt. It wasn't part of her job description but you get friendly with some of the long time residents when they come down to pay the rent.

I'm thinking of just giving everything I own to a disadvantaged family. I would rather donate my property than keep giving cash.

Is anyone else a state or federal employee? My state is going to take almost a month of furlough days next year. It is very close to 1/10 of my salary. Also, they are not going to pay part of my costly insurance, so that is another chunk. Next year will suck.

Do federal employees or other state's employees have to do this? Is it time for me to move and donate my house?

Folks on welfare piss me off. When the economy is better I will go back to having a soft spot in my heart for them, but right now they piss me off.

They piss me off too. When I first met my husband I worked at the Holiday Inn as a maid for $4.25/hour, my husband worked at the labor hall making $200/week and we had a baby. We somehow made it without welfare, I don't see why anyone else can't as long as they're able bodied and healthy.

We recycle a lot of our old, good stuff to women's shelters and Habitat for Humanity and sometimes the local thrift shop that benefits veterans. The only money I give to charity is for the ASPCA and the Wounded Warrior Project. I'm way too soured on the whole welfare system due to the vast scamming I've seen during her time working for the NYCHA.

I can't even bring myself to give to those Christian Children's funds to help poor kids in third world countries. Maybe I sound like a cold bitch but why are these people bringing children into their world? Many of them starve to death and are suffering with disease. I just couldn't bear seeing my kid grow up suffering. And you know that those holy molys doing all that charity work with them are NOT teaching them about birth control! Yeah, yeah, I know it's a person's right to bear children and have a family but it just seems cruel to the kid to me. Never mind the poor kid born out of rape for those poor women. I can only imagine the amount of rape from frustrated, uneducated, disrespectful poor men.

The the thing about welfare is that you are kinda working for the government. They send you a check much like working for a regular company, the difference is that most places when they hire you now need a piss test a credit check and a police rap sheet if you are a felon. Not so when you are on welfare, they should get a piss test done on them and if they fail they get cut off. Then we would see some improvement in this country, and a lot less crime. If it is good for the private sector it should be the same for welfare recipients.
