They all died of old age

Basil was the last to go at nearly 3 years old!

Well I want to move to Florida. At the time after Basil's demise, it was very feasable to get the house sold and moved. I didn't want to pack up and travel by car, 1900 miles with hamsters. It would be cruel to them. Bad enough I got the 4 cats and 2 dogs I'd be travelling with!

So, I put it off. But sadly we didn't act fast enough on selling and moving. We had some financial issues that needed to be resolved and then the country went into recession. I can still sell my house for what I want but it would take longer and the bigger problem is finding work for Matt in Florida. No one is hiring in his field right now. So we're stuck waiting this economy out.

So, we're kinda in the same boat!! Waiting till we're in a postion to rebuild the menagaries!!

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. There'll be plenty of hamsters in Florida just waiting to adopt you

Aw! I remember them all. You always had so many good pics of them!
Economy all around the world s****... I'm trying to move out my parents house but It's harder now...I need a new job!!! And a new house for my 5 kittens and all my critters...

Aww Joan, I remember them too. That is a blast from the past ! I am cutting right back now too. No more `new` ones when my oldies go. .....I agree..It is soooo hard not to bring the little guys home when you see them. Chianti ( sapphire winter white) is my last hamster out of all my syrians and dwarfies and she is 18 months now. I still have my two gerbils and ofcourse my ratties , piggies and four dogs but I`d love two more dogs.....sighs...Oh well !!
