Public opinion is what I'm after here.
Ok......the situation is this: I have a classic rock band, it WAS named Whippin Post but when the other band members mentioned the band name to their friends and acquaintances the vast majority came out with..."Oh, so you're an Allman Brothers tribute band?"
We need another name. Now we have a show coming up this Tuesday and were rather pressured to come up with something else and the (temporary) winner was Nytro.
Fine, well and good BUT, this name gives a connotation of a more metal oriented band and we aren't.
We have several good possibilities and I'd just like to get some input.
The scene is this: You are a classic rock (and southern fried rock) fan and are looking to go see a NEW cover band. Which name would stand out and simply by virtue of the name let you know that this is what the band is all about?
Old Skool (Yes...the mis-spelling is on purpose)......(Btw...this is the leader of the pack so far)
No Limit
Strike 6
High Gear
Lucid Moment
Anomoly
Warp 10
Fractured Reality
Slightly Bent
Avarice
Bear in mind that this is a collection of older musicians
(ages 56-53-51-50-43 and the "baby" is 36).
We play Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jethro Tull, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outlaws, Alice Cooper, Boxtops, Pure Prairie League, The Who, Greg Kinh, Santana, Doobie Brothers etc.
I'd do a poll but I really would like to hear opinions more.
Thanks for the help!
