TenFour is a good case for 6 weeks conscription

I don't know any military personnel that fit the box TenFour has described, but this is across The Pond.

Hubby's Best-man still did a full service even after shell shock (and is still not quite right mentally- mental health cannot be seen) and his wife returned from doing 4 tours of Afghanistan this summer, her last and now retired from the service herself. She is now a Lt Col. in the TA (our part-time, call me if there's a war service)

I could go on but I have better things to do

You can't make a blanket statement saying all vets these days are all like that and you certainly cannot attest that ALL the vets from WWI&II are the manliest of men who are the only ones worthy of respect. There were plenty back then who didn't measure up too.

Pretty sure women have proven themselves in battle several times over. The Israeli army has employed women since I can remember and that's a tough bunch of soldiers. What makes you think American women are any less fierce or capable?

If you want to talk about women proving themselves in battle talk to me about celtic and nordic women.
