Now, although this guy is scum, why isn't the news harping on that PFC that gave this shit all those classified docs? He's in the brig now, but unless it's because of where he's being held (military confinement) and news resources are limited, WHY is the main focus on Assange?

Legally, I'm pretty sure the USA can build a case of espionage against both parties but not treason.

Well, if you look at Assange as a reporter, he's done nothing wrong. And from what I've seen, he hasn't released anything that's a surprise to anyone anyway. Locations of places of importance to the US? Yeah, like that wouldn't be hard to figure out, right? None of this got ugly until he announced he was going to release info about the big banks and everyone went fucking crazy. And that whole rape charge sounds suspicious anyway...

Who was that woman that worked for the CIA that got outed due to political infighting? No one ever got charged with that, did they? Same thing IMO.

I think Scooter Libby got in some trouble with that CIA thing and I think he's been pardoned. I'm not sure on that.

As a reporter you're right - he didn't do anything wrong but the PFC who gave him the info is not getting the attention needed. The problem started there. I think if he paid that PFC for info that does implicate him on espionage though.

I find it funny that he turned himself in after saying that he would out the banking industry. That is where the real power is. Those people work under a different set of rules than any government, and are not tied down with "rules of conduct".
The thing he did more than anything was embarass the political bubble but the banks, well that is a different animal.
