Ford lets you turn them off too. I have all that bullshit turned off in the Edge. The mustang was the option. I think it's the "safe and smart package" that has that nonsense and it may be part of that new adaptive cruise control - which I did not need. I never use cruise control anyway, it's pretty pointless with a clutch and at 80MPH on a crowded highway. It's not as wide open here as it is by you.
What is just truly stupid and IMO a total scam by the people who make car starter units is that bullshit that the car turns off at a full stop and turns on again once you hit the accelerator. HOW that saves gas is beyond me AND what if you had to punch it to save yourself? That one or two seconds is a very long time in a situation like that. Ford allows me to turn that bullshit off and it's only available in automatic transmission vehicles. my clutch!
