I figure if someone wants to ride with no coconut cover then fine. It's their noggin to split like a ripe melon if they want it to. Typically those who holler loudest for no helmet laws never rode anything but street bikes and mostly didn't begin riding till they were in their later 20's.
Most riders who started off road and at younger ages will opt for a helmet almost without fail. I suppose there is some kind of correlation but I'm just not sure what that is.
Honestly though, maybe helmet laws could be repealed if say insurance carriers would insert some clause that either calls for a higher premium or pays a smaller amount if one is in an accident and is not wearing a helmet. Come to think of it, option 2 would be more realistic since anyone could lie and tell the insurer that "Oh yeah, I always wear a helmet" when in fact they don't.
I know that I wouldn't be here or possibly may have been seriously dain bramaged if not for using good quality helmets.
