Summertime is "overheat" time for many dogs. My dogs LOVE getting a bowl full of ice cubes as a treat. I usually put a bowl of ice outside in the shade when they are with me and it melts to cool water and they can pick on the cubes to cool off.
But what they love as a cool snack is "meatcicles".
Get some ice pop molds (all dollar stores have them) and fill with chicken and beef broth. Let freeze and separate out of the molds and store in a baggie. Don't bother putting the "stick" in. They don't hold them
I make a ton of these for the summer and always have them on hand for those hot days.
