Who Do You Think You Are.
.
That's the title of a superb BBC series of programmes that deals with peoples genealogy, the successive generations of kin, their family's past. Obviously, it being the BBC, it's mainly U.K. people, and people who are in the public eye...ranging from, actors, actresses, news media people etc, Yet, within a few minutes, you find it doesn't really matter if the person who's lineage is being sought has any relevance to their celebrity/notoriety or not....because in each case it's a social history lesson be they of privileged background, or from the poor & destitute.
This programme however, traces the family of American tv host, Jerry Springer. I know the mere name might have some rolling their eyes at the thought of his shows, but I assure you, this is genuinely compelling. Even if you've only a passing interest in genealogy, I think you'll enjoy it. If you only have a passing interest about history, I guarantee, (should you watch all six of the ten minute vids) You'll have learned something more about the times....along with a twist of fate at the end.
