..............we have found a guitarist!

Following the death of Forrest we have been searching for a guitarist to fill the void but audition after audition came up empty. Jerry joined us but he's got much to learn and is nowhere near ready to assume the lead position. For now rhythm is where he fits.

Steve just wasn't connecting with what he needed to do for leads and then a couple of months ago he fell seriously ill. He ended up with 4 drains in his chest and had to undergo 6 weeks of intense physical rehab. He's no longer in any condition to do live performances so back down to 3 musicians.

3 weeks ago Greg shoots me a message asking if we were still looking and I told him that yes we were. His band is on the rapid decline and 2 of the members are moving on so..........he auditioned and we all fit together musically right away!

Since Drew and I are the last of the original members of Blowin' Smoke we've decided to retire the name and make this a new project.

The working name we have right now is.....On The Rocks.

We are working on a new playlist which will include some of the material from Blowin' Smoke and a host of different classic rock/danceable rock tunes.

Update:

We have one structured "regular gig" set and one "harder hitting" set ready to go. Both share some songs. The distinction will be the expected audience/venue we will be playing.

We have enough material now for 3 complete sets with a few extras and just need to sit down and organize them. After that's done (hopefully we can accomplish that at our next practice session) it's just a matter of running through them a couple of times to get used to the setup and tighten things up.

With the demo disc finalized and the sets nearly organized, all that remains is to get our promo packs finished (business cards, flyers, band photos, banner and other miscellaneous printed material) and we're ready to start booking.
