There were parts of Voyager I liked, and I did like Mulgrew as Capt. They totally lost me in how they ended it. They pulled the cheap 'time traveler comes back and saves us' bull shit. I never could really get into Enterprise. I get a kick out of the first Next Gen episodes now, they acting is so cheesy compared to the end.

Yeah TNG is a bit cheesy when you watch reruns. I do like the way they ended it with Picard finally joining the crew for poker.
I wasn't happy with Voyager's ending either but I did like how Janeway 'tamed' Q. I got a feeling they were not given another season and wasn't prepared for the ending. It looked rushed. I think I'm the only one that enjoyed Enterprise. I just didn't "get" how it fit into any of the timelines of the story. Prequel to Kirk? It didn't feel like that fit. I took it for what it was and just enjoyed. That one was suddenly cancelled and thus the terrible ending - history lesson from Troi and Riker reminiscing. pfft

There was a lot of Enterprise that I never saw. I was kinda disappointed in it, and I had pretty much given up TV by then.

Yeah, early TNG is bad cheesy. A lot better by the end. One of the things I like about Voyager was that they didn't have Starfleet to fall back on all the time. Had to work shit out on their own.

I see why people were pissed about the Kahn story being so changed, but I like Cumberbatch enough that I didn't mind. Like I said I am not a 'purist' so change away. As long as you tell a good story. I also really liked Karl Urban as McCoy. Well cast. Interested in the next one.

I liked Enterprise. Like Voyager, they spent a lot of time "away from Starfleet". They also had more unknowns to contend with.

Well, saw this on Saturday and I gotta say it was freakin' awesome. Lots of stuff in the story was terribly predictable, but who cares? It was good. Chris Pine captured the essence of Kirk and Shatner's Kirk so well that at some points in the movie you would think Kirk was talking. They changed his hair to exactly how they had Shatner wear it right down to the shock of hair falling over his brow.

TBH, I would like to see the next movie be more of a thinker. This was full tilt, action packed.

I enjoyed it as well. It was well worth the money paid. (Even though I didn't pay for it.)

We got in free too. Our little chapter of StarFleet had a table there and the theater had promos going on all day so the manager let us go in free as long as we trickled in and not gone in as a mob Smile
