Santa got Matt Assassins Creed: Black Flag and I was wondering if the game is "cross compatible" - Dylan would know this since he plays.

What I mean is if he goes to online playing, can people with other platforms participate? Like Dylan hooking up with him since he plays on the computer and not a console? PS4 and Xbox? Is 'online' exactly that without regard to the device it's used to play on?

The game has a ton of expansion packs he needs to get too!

Yes it's all the same online. I don't play the online though, it just isn't that fun to me. I enjoy the solo campaign, where I'm an ass kicking maniac. I've already gone from the 400,000's in ranking up to less than 100,000 ranking [which is done by wealth in your solo campaign], and I'm only at like 58% completion!

OK good to know. He's not fond of online play either because the kiddies kick the crap out of him!
