Ummm simply news alert! Flailing Direct TV bought by AT&T tele communications! And they thought their prices were crazy before! Why less service for more money is so helpful for the consumer. Especially WITH a 45 + billion dollar deal ,$$$$$ oh this is fucking insane!!!!!

I fired DTV years ago because they couldn't get their billing in order. They had the best deals and the best channel lineup for the money. I went comparing pricing again because they have the best sports packages and I almost fired FiOS and switched, but when I checked DTV again, they cut out over 100 channels on their base price, raised pricing and the billing system was the same.

I'll stick with FiOS. AT&T has nothing but shit service for their cell phones, I don't dare chance television and internet! Wonder if Verizon is going to offer DTV through them anymore?

It's only TV. We lived for a long time before we had TV. If you don't like the prices get rid of the shit, it's not like it's milk or gas or something that you really need.

We were customers of Primestar (which became DirecTV eventually) from WAAAAAAAAY back. In fact we only missed the last of EchoStar (the original service) by about 4 months. After TimeWarner cut DTV loose they really started screwing up the pricing and programming. We were one of only 8 subscribers nationwide who had been with them for that amount of time and they just didn't give a shit about that loyalty so during an argument with their customer service I told them to shove it and within 30 mins was signed up for Dish. They had someone out first thing in the morning and DTV hadn't even cut the service yet!

Been with Dish ever since and we have a package that's not even offered anymore. As long as we don't make any MAJOR package changes we can upgrade to the new Hopper system and still retain our package with NO CHANGE in pricing!

LOL We are currently with Dish, although we do not have the OMG package we have the one just below. Along with a sports package. However we pay for it. We have a DVR and three rooms hooked up. We eventually want to go to the hopper but need to move the dish to do it. We are up against a mountain so it's damn hard to get the right angle from the back deck. I love them but... damn trees are in the way. So out to the rock garden in the front yard it has to go.. Ugly but I want the potential perks of the hopper and it will actually shake out the same price wise when we are done. And when we start watching something in one room we can hop it to another room if we move around. Nice side benefit. OH and I hate god damn direct TV.. assholes dropped the weather channel the pricks. Thank god we don't have them anymore!
