Let's just use something heavier like lead, kill the fucker and eat the corn and sunflower seeds as a side dish.
Flowers are nice, if they are sitting on the table next to a nicely roasted dead animal.

Erm, why is this in Military Chat and not the Armory? 4 pages later and I just noticed. wot

This for your wife, TenFour? I shoot a S&W 686 with the medium size barrel (4" i think?) and there isn't much of a kickback that I thought would be and if she has weak wrists and grip, the semi-automatics may be too much for her to load the magazines and / or pull back the slide to get things going. Can't go wrong with a revolver, very few moving parts to fuck up. My gun can shoot .38 special and .357 rounds.

I keep the .357's in the gun for home protection and practice with the .38's. I REALLY need to do some practicing with the .357's though, but I figure I'm a decent shot and if it came down to it, if the adrenaline and situation doesn't cause me to go into a nervous state, they're fucked.

I dont feel good about most manufactured defense rounds because usually the rounds are loaded +P and unless you shoot them regularly and are used to the feel its going to hurt your accuracy in a stress situation.

My first choice if I was able to plan for my defense situation would be to use my Taurus raging judge magnum with .410 PDX shotshells. Each 2 1/2" shotshell has three copper discs plus 12 copper bbs for added insurance or the 3" shell has 4 and 16 . If I had to do it in a regular caliber handgun though I would use either Corbon PowR Ball or federal hydra shok the damage ive seen those rounds do was pretty amazing.

would you recommend the taurus judge 2 1/2 over the R.I.P. rounds for a 51 year old woman who can't see shit without glasses, has some numbness and carpal tunnel? My whole thing here isn't can I shoot it it's what's 1 gun I can get for her that she can drill with so when I aint at home I can sleep a little better. Recoil and also cocking mechanisms are things i need to factor in.

If she has numbness and carpel tunnel she does not want to be shooting any sort of magnum rounds in general or any +P or +P+ because the recoil and pressures are not kind on the hand and you cant practice alot with those rounds because first they do damage to the gun over time and second its just very expensive practice I believe the RIP rounds are +P. Now specifically to the .357 magnum indoors, in closed quarters the added kick and the sound wave it causes from the first round will deafen most people to the point where they will drop the gun and be defenseless and or every following shot they will flinch to the point of having garbage accuracy. A revolver in general is a solid setup for anyone with hand pain or issues. The Taurus judge has like 12 different models I would not recommend she get the one I have. However the poly public defenders may be a solid choice it all depends on her ability and hands.

A 2 1/2 slug in a judge is very accurate, good damage and quite a few decibels less then a magnum round. Also the kick in the judge setup of that .410 will feel like that of a .38spc in most revolvers.

My philosophy is defend yourself with whatever you are most accurate with regardless of caliber. The judge works for me and I can easily get headshots etc. However for your wife if she gets a .22 revolver that holds 10 rounds and she can put 8 of the 10 in a circle that would be someones head. Thats way better then getting a the judge .410 setup and getting one or two hits out of 6 to a torso sized target.

Below is a picture of my tarus raging judge next to a standard smith and wesson police issued revolver and why I dont suggest this exact model lol.

Here's a nice little .22 LR revolver by S & W.
http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/s...rrorView_Y

Load it with hollow points and at close range it will do sufficient damage even if she doesn't take the head shot.
