Does anyone remember Action Park? "The action never stops at Action Park" was the slogan.
Located in Vernon NJ from '78 to '96 and was dubbed the most insane amusement park ever. I remember the commercials and jingle but we never got to go. I was already out on my own by then too.

There now is a documentary in two parts on Dailymotion that has gone viral. This place was NUTS! More people died there and were injured daily than anyplace. Anyone in the Tri-state area knows this place and the famous Wave (grave) Pool and the Alpine Slide.

Yeah, pretty much Biker Dude. You heard the news all the time here talking about something going wrong over there. But you watch the people on the end of the second part and they all would do it again.

OMG Mount Airy Lodge! We hate that place for one reason - my mom and her boyfriend.

1975 she decides to take us and the dog on vacation upstate Pa. The dog is carsick the entire ride and puking her poor guts all over the back of the car and outside the window. They rented a cabin. We were like 2 miles from our destination when the care breaks down. They leave me and my two brothers and the dog on the side of the road while they get the car towed to a shop and a car rented.

In the hour (or two?) we were stranded there no less than 7 people stopped and asked us directions to Mt. Airy Lodge! Children - they're asking kids aged 15 to 8 for directions! My brother had enough and the last person who asked us he says, "On fucking Mt. Airy you stupid moron, where do you think?" The guy got so pissed and peeled out of there. We were laughing for a long time.

Seriously though, I know the world was much more 'relaxed' back then, but do you really think children are the right ones to ask where some lodge is? The two boys resorted to chucking pebbles at cars until mom got back with the rental - a friggin Pinto! goddamn death-mobile. I was terrified every minute I was in there. They hadn't recalled them but they did have it out already they were exploding on rear-end impact!

Yeah......I DID want to give the place a whirl but just never got there.

Mt. Airy Lodge? That's bringing back a flood of memories of old TV commercials!
