We've never done this before, so one reason for only going up the coast. I'd never think of travelling away without a good reason. We went to Australia but didn't fly until after Christmas. That is most we have done and that was because Mark sister sounded so homesick the year before when she called and without thinking he promised we would visit.

My parents are both both feeling low at the moment, both their health has been heavily tested this year, my mum's Parkinson's had rapidly degenerated and my dad's hearing is so poor now it has been suggested a titanium post be placed into his skull. Unfortunately he also suffers with so many skin conditions he may never be able to have it done for fear of an infection. Dad has only just started talking about out daughter too, which is a good thing, they were virtually inseperable, even when her boyfriend came on the scene.

Maybe we should be here for the good memories but The Purbecks have a special meaning to us and that's where my parents want to be.Wink
It's Christmas Present!

*Wish we could buy over there....................where's that lottery win?Whistle

Oh I hope you all have a good time away ! I`m like Joan....Oh gosh....Everyone comes to me..it is a nightmare, I dread it, I really do. I can`t cope with it like I used to. I love to see all my family , I love them but it is still a nightmare with too much to do !!

I have it planned the very easiest I can this year , so we`ll see how it goes. The bit I hate most is that I have to put the dogs in their crates for much of the time and although they never seem to mind, they are used to a free run around the house so I like it best when everyone has gone and we get back to normal....hahahahaha !!

However, I want it to be nice for the kids this year as Paul has a lot of surgery next year which we are none of us looking forward to at all.....Paul and Shanika have gone mad this year , travelling and holidays etc....Just in case it is another bad year for them but who knows....It may all go smoothly and Paul will be completely well again and we can breathe a sigh of relief until something else crops up !!

Hope you ALL have a lovely time X

Deligate- Become a General in Charge and give everyone a job. That's how Marks parents planned their Christmas when everyone turned up and one year that was 12 adults 11 grandchildren sitting down to dinner.

The veg was put out to tender- potatoes and brussels. The Turkey bones out by Mark or his sister depending on who was around. Table was laid and washed up by others and puddings and cakes made by different people. Even the kids were involved folding napkins and getting the party games ready.

Yes, don't miss those days but they were fun at the time, even when Marks ex-brother-in-law who'd have his annual bust up with his mother-in-law/wife/children or even himself by arriving and promptly leaving again. If he did stay it was because he had already tanked himself up and and had fallen asleep, where the children would dress him- see Pickles after a day with her neice.......................

The trip we are taking is all deligated already.
