Tomorrow night I'm off to see David Essex with Jeff's mum Sue Biggrin

We got front row seats, I don't know how Sue managed it. Yahoo

And better still we can go and be silly without disapproving hubby's in tow and making us behave like last time.

PS sorry I guess you may not know the name, but he was a 70's pop star/actor and still going strong over here. YahooYahooYahoo

Oh lucky you! I love David Essex! I had no idea he was still going strong too - he faded into oblivion here.

Have a blast, get sloppy drunk, don't drive but do get into minor trouble. If you want to piss off the hubbies, get arrested.

Silly Pickles- what a thought Blush

When Ray dropped us off (hopeless parking- you needed to book space with the ticket) he said have fun and behave. I said I'd look after Sue and make sure she came back with her knickers Haha Ray misses jokes sometimes and he didn't say anything.
Later we called to get picked up (he was nearby at their daughters) he asked what we were going to do with our knickers? Since Sue is deaf she missed my comment and pointed out to him we are 'grown-up' now and we didn't throw knickers on the stage any more. He was horrified- He thought we had intended to- silly man. Kiss
We had a great time thank you. The seats were ideal because we were about 3 rows back and slightly off centre so we could stand and dance and not get caught in the crush of those who came out of their seats to push up to the stage. They spoilt it a bit for those who had paid full wack for very front row- and security made them go and sit down again and even David didn't encourage them when they tried to get to touch him, he would play up and rub his back telling them he was too old to bend down to them and then wave madly at fans in the circle (upstairs).

He sang all my favourites including Rock On, thankyou LTraz Good Lamplight and Silverdream Machine. The last song was new to me but from a later album I haven't got, Sue said it could say so much and left us teary. It was simply about not worrying that when someone was out of sight they were still there in your mind and heart, and when you remembered them they would be there even when the stars came out and you couldn't see them in the dark or in the brightness of another day.
Sue said it would have been a good anthem to remember someone and we both thought of Christine (although obviously we should have been thinking of the end of the concert and David saying good-night).

He has a house locally haven't found out where Devil and he said 'See you all in Bournemouth soon!'

He will be back! BiggrinBiggrin
I'm glad you know who I'm talking about too. He is cheeky as ever

You guys are so lucky! They don't let us get near a stage now even in small quiet shows / venues. The hire big bouncers and keep a 15 foot gap between the stage and the audience. And yeah, even with shows for senior citizens! As if the geezers are going to crash the stage!

Glad you had a good time, I'm jealous.
