Well...........
This is interesting. The world is the same over Giggle

Almost makes me wonder if atheists have the right idea. Cancel Christmas and if will effect so much:
Retail shops will fail
Electricity companies have no bonus profits
Paper will drop in value
Turkey's will be happy
Brussel Sprouts will stay in the fields.

There will be no 'getting time off work' to see the kids in a school nativity play (no crying angels, shepherds with their pants falling down or 4x Mary's and 2 Josephs fighting over a plastic Tiny Tears Jesus)
No Bank Holiday
No In Laws to cook for.
No queueing for the multi-storey car park to shop (*we waited 20 minutes on Tuesday! Why? I still didn't get anything)

My Advent candle is on Day 15 (having burnt through 13 and 14 in one go) and I have bought one present, been to one Christmas party and one lunch both painfully hard work.

t's not so much as the athiests have it right as that the PC bunch is trying to be a pain in the ass to everyone but the muslims. They seem to give Islam a free pass but have Judaism and Christianity in their crosshairs.

That's the kind of hypocrisy that really pisses me off. Either NO religion gets a pass or they ALL do. That plating favorites shit is bullshit at best. If they are so enamored with Islam then they should pull up stakes and move to fucking Iran!

Until these whining jackholes began bitching it was pretty much "to each their own" and that was that.

The atheists are bitching because they want a happy winter solstice display in some states. If they are atheists, what do they celebrate that they want a display? Winter Solstice pray and celebrates the gifts the "gods" gave from the earth, no?
One you organize to your cause, IMO you now "believe" in something. All my life I knew athiests and not one of them were offended by Christmas. They just didn't believe and went about their business. Now it's business to take that away from those who celebrate. The kill-joys need to throw every excuse in the world why it's not truly Christmas and it was stolen from one thing or another as well. Is it that hard to ignore, really? I laugh when I hear those who are really adamant about it start talking about the gifts they buy for each other, the tree they put up, or how their kids enjoy it. Why are you doing exactly what you don't believe in?

Joan, this is all about rebellion, not atheism. These groups are out to stick it to Christians because a) Mommy and Daddy made me go to church and I didn't want to, b) I worship the State, and want to make a 'Heaven on Earth' instead, c) nobody should be that self-assured, so I am going to be the opposite, d) I hate any form of higher authority, e)If I don't believe in all that rot, I don't have to follow the moral code it preaches, etc, etc..............................

There's also a certain thrill in forcing the overwhelming majority to kowtow to a tiny minority such as themselves. Sticking it to the Man has its appeals. After all, everyone has the right to be offended, and let others know you are offended.

Real nonbelievers tend to mind their own business, go by the title of agnostic, and follow a "live and let live" philosophy.

This the most intelligent thing I've ever seen you post. Ever.

Probably the most honest too!
