Go back and read all of your emotional responses, then get back to me.

If you posted one from experiance and from a postion of having been faced with the decision to deploy pepper spray on an individual or group, please remind me which one it was, I didn't see it.

I hope you weren't this bad at judgement when you were a cop. Not one of my responses was emotional. It's the internet dude, there is nothing here worth getting emotional over. So, again you fail. If YOU will go back and reread, you might notice that not once have I told you even which side I might agree with. I just pointed out inconsistencies in your narrative. And you didn't seem to like that much.

Not once did I ever claim I had to decide whether to spray or not. THAT might be why you missed it. And I never claimed I did. I have witnessed both pepper spray and mace used. I have had both used on me. And I have treated others that have had both used on them.

All in all the thread reads with YOUR emotional responses. Like:

We need to start a petition banning the use of pepper spray.
Reads like a twelve year old that has been told he can't eat candy before dinner. And yet I'm the emotional one? Lol

Great answer. BUT !

The point of my question was to show you that you have zero experiance yet you think you have the ability to know that the cop enjoyed spraying pepper on those kids and that He was over zealous and full of power when he did.

That particular cop? No of course I don't know if he enjoyed it or not, get real. Cops in general? Yes, a decent percentage of them would enjoy it. Quite a few have actually spoken about it, and how much fun it is, specially against some dirty hippy scum.

I know from experience how some of them are. I worked as an EMT. I got the full mace treatment from a cop simply because I was treating someone he had sprayed. He told me 'that scum doesn't deserve treatment'. So I got some too, just for disagreeing with him. So yes, I do have some experience. Have you deployed mace or pepper spray yourself? Your experience?

Hell yea. This one time, we had a soldier that was drunk and out of control in his room. Little stocky Filipino kid named Kevin. Anyhow, he can't handle his liquor much and ended up smashing the whole place, and I mean everything. He had gotten carried away and figured he was a Spartan.

When we knocked on his door, he screamed and smashed the shower up. MP's were called, and we all stacked on the door (I mean, we're all soldiers - more help the merrier) while two MP's readied themselves by the window. At the signal we broke in and the MP's pepper sprayed the shit out of this kid, I mean to tell you what it was enough spray to keep chemical companies in business for a week.

I reversed course before I got taken down by the spray and after covering our faces with a washcloth, helped get this kid down and cuffed. The MP's took two casualties that day from friendly fire. Later, as our platoon sergeant picked him up from the MP station, he wasn't mad, he just asked incredulously, "....what happened, man?". Poor kid was in tears.

He is still in the Army, with the rank of Sergeant now and a family man.

Another time, I was about 8 and messing with a can of bear spray at the sporting goods store, and ended up hosing down one of the aisles. That shit ain't no joke either.

I've always wondered, how does it compare to mace or pepper spray?

Figure this: it is meant to drive away a pissed off, charging-at-40mph Grizzly bear possibly defending cubs or just hungry/territorial. It'll shoot 30yrd cloud in a 15 second burst that I don't anything would push through.

I actually figure it's a grand thing to spray a bear with rather than going immediately for the gun. Just have a gun as well for backup.

Anyhow, whatever happened to the old days of giving people wooden shampoos or a slap upside the head with a blackjack?
