Well, we finally made it to Cruise Night in town. Go figure, it's the last one of the season but I think we have a 'connection' to find more through one of Matt's co-workers.

Some really nice cars that I was absolutely drooling over. Many brought back memories of what was turned out of the auto shop in school, there was a '72 Super Sport which is what I learned to drive on. An old Camaro that a friend had that he taught all the girls how to burn rubber with and a ton more.

A shot from the bottom of the road... side roads had cars too - off to the right. I might have to make a few posts to get them all in!

Remember - all images are click-able for full size and up close views.

Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes!
The place was lousy with these cars so I'll only stick a few in Wink

This is the Cobra with the gigantic nitrous tank in the trunk -

But I like this one better -

A couple of Caddy's and some other stuff:

.jpg   IMG_0697.JPG (Size: 949.37 KB / Downloads: 1)

Anyone remember the Corvair? These things used to flip over going around turns or simply driving too fast! My mom's friend Maura had one and she refused to give it up she loved it so much.

.jpg   IMG_0677.JPG (Size: 982.22 KB / Downloads: 0)

Motorcycles were barely represented but there was these great oldies!

.jpg   IMG_0689.JPG (Size: 1.05 MB / Downloads: 0)

.jpg   IMG_0692.JPG (Size: 1.03 MB / Downloads: 1)

And something a little newer. Looks like Dracula or Batman would ride this!

.jpg   IMG_0694.JPG (Size: 1.11 MB / Downloads: 0)

Harley Davidson's racing bike - the Buell. This SOB can go 150 mph in second gear. My ex rode one at one of HD York plant's events and said that if he ever wanted one of these I should put a bullet in his head because that way he won't have to die riding it. He says these do not belong on the road but only on a race track. I'm with him on this. I see more dead kids on these bikes than any other type around here.

.jpg   IMG_0691.JPG (Size: 1.1 MB / Downloads: 1)

And then there was this ridiculous thing. The Chevrolet concept car ETV. The Extra Terrestrial Vehicle. What a stupid looking thing. It looks like a hamster or something.

That red MG 'isn't'.

Mark thought it was a bit odd, wrong lights and one or two other things.
It is a VW kit called a Lafer from Brazil.

Brilliant evening and the ET custom is amazing. We have Andy Saunders down the road from us. He is world renowned for Custom cars and he would be 'gobsmacked' with that one!
Brilliant bikes too, I can see your reasons with the Buell, I possibly would be the same about it in the drive.

When does this event run?
*Just doing some thinking.

They run these things all over NJ in the summer time. This one in town runs every other wednesday from June through Sept. This was the last one. They only run a couple hours in the evening too and the day time events are only a few hours at a time too. Most car owners pack it up after judging and leave.

He was advertising that red MG as an MG, not a kit car. The license plate says "My 53MG" as well.
The cream colored one is for sale and the first offer over $16,5000.00 gets to take it home.

LOL Twist. You would. The muscle cars from the '70's has my heart. I learned to drive on a '72 Chevelle SS and one of the guys taught the girls to burn rubber on his Camaro - I don't know the year but it was like that black one with the white nose stripe.

That black Camaro is a 69 Rally Sport. Most likely if stock it has either a 327 H.O. or a 350 LT1 under the hood. Nice ride!

Corvairs would have been produced for quite a few years more had it not been for Ralph Nader. Ever see one with the high performance engine? "Pancake" 6cyl engine producing just under 200 HP. They called it the Monza Spyder.

You think the Buells are insane? Look up the specs on the Suzuki Hyabusa. Then consider that the specs you'll find are for the USA version of the engine control chip. Swap that for the wide open one and it's unbelievable what it will do!

That black bike looks like some kind of military stealth experiment!

Oh dear Shok That is not an MG Ok
If he bought as one then someone needs to sue for trades description. The badge on the grille is wrong, the mirrors and indicators (on the wheel wing) are the main clue.
I'll get Mark to find an MG from the '30s to compare.
Shame, it looks nice though.

(Mark is a bit of an MG buff, both he and his brother had them, pre-marriage, His brothers' was a basket case and I'm so glad I didn't know Mark when he had his!)

Yep, been on the back of a Hyabusa- and he said he didn't get out of 2nd gear!

Agree on the black bike- that would get 'Bike of the Night' if I was judge.
