Gail never ceases to make me laugh. I check the mail yesterday and a surprise package is in there.

I open it and see this pirate flag. Naturally I ran it up the pole under the American flag!

you Gail! I'll get you the stuff I promised as soon as I get a trip to the market.

Oh speaking of dumbass neighbors. Yesterday we're in the house preparing stuff to take outside to sit poolside and I see my hedgerow of Rose of Sharon being attacked by the guy behind me!

I sent Matt over to see WTF he thinks he's doing. This is the guy who illegally cut his neighbor next door's tree down and caused such a rift she's moving.

Now, the law says that he can only cut what's hanging over my fence into his yard. Here's the catch... my fence is inside my property line and there is an 18" gap between our fences. My trees do not hang into his yard.

BUT - don't you think he'd have the courtesy to call up or knock on the door asking if he can start whacking at my trees? You can't just hack away at them mid branch! You prune them so they don't die.

We stopped the guys he hired to do that and asked them to have him call us. So far no word but they had 90% of the fence line whacked down already. This guy is nuts. We have 100% southern sun in our yards and it's hotter than hell out there with no shade. We like shade. It keeps the grass from being crunchy and allows us not to bake and die out there. Vic does not like leaves in his yard. Well, move back to the city then where you have no leaves. I'm waiting for the cement truck to come and pour green cement over the lawn. Wouldn't surprise me if he did that. He cut every tree on his property down. His air conditioning bill must be huge.

Well I talked to Code Enforcement today and we're going around the corner and have a little talk with the neighbor.

If he insists on cutting what does not belong to him, I will make him sorry he does - legally.

Turns out around here you must ask permission before cutting someone's property and what they cut must be a problem - aesthetics are not included. He cannot cut to do damage to the trees or shrubs either.
