Isn't Delta the company that proclaims they never drip? Then how come my faucet in the kitchen drips and the parts to it cost around $20 to obtain?

Everything is a rip-off these days.

The washerless valve was the worst invention of the 20th century.

I use 1/4 turn valves and when they start leaking i get new ones, buying the whole stem is stupid IMO.

By the way,Delta is not the company it used to be and their valves are no where near the quality they were known for, the water restrictors and stuff they are forced to build into them are most of the problem.

peerless may have been the cheap brand back in the day, but they have learned to be cheap and make that work, you might want to take a look at their higher end stuff, it's really pretty nice.

It's the ball assembly in the on/off lever that has to be replaced on this one. I think we spent nearly $200 on this faucet too. Not sure I could be wrong by half on the price of that but the thing is only 5 years old too.

I was in IKEA earlier this year looking for something specific and noticed their faucets. You'd be surprised how well made theirs are and for a fraction of the price of the higher end faucets. Same for their anodized cookware. I'm going to get a whole set of those to replace the shit pots my mom got me because she thought they were nice because they are from Wolfgang Puck. I love that pan I got at IKEA and as someone who loves to cook, I find them comparable to the Calphalon. I've cooked with Calphalon so I am not comparing blindly.

If I replace the whole faucet, I'm going to replace the sink as well and go with stainless steel. I went with porcelain / white and a white faucet and I HATE HATE HATE it! I hate stainless steel too but it does not 'yellow' over time like white porcelain does.

You know, Peerless have always done right by me. They may have been cheap but you're right, they hold up and perform as they should. I cannot recall seeing a Peerless brand in the stores here for ages though! I'm going to have to keep my eye peeled.

I have this one, I like it, it's a 1/4 turn valve and it's been a good performer.

That's a nice faucet.

I have THIS ONE. I hate it.

Never get a colored faucet. They stain easily and they lose their shiny finish.

Take a look at what Moen has to offer in a faucet. They are good quality and should they need rebuilt they're really easy and inexpensive to work with.

Stainless steel sinks are the way to go. Easy cleaning with a steel wool pad and just a minute worth of scrubbing will keep them nice and squeaky clean.

Stainless loses their shine. That's why I went with the white.

I'm not changing anything right now. The kitchen is only 5 or 6 years old as well as the appliances except for the dishwasher. I'll wait until it's absolutely needed to replace.

When I do, I'm going with IKEA faucets. I can get "high end" products for the fraction of the price and of equal quality.
