When you buy a rack for that bike, if you are gonna put it on yourself, make sure you get one made for disk brakes.
My tool kits seem to grow and grow. My personal choices for a basic kit are,
a muli tool, something with a chain tool and spoke wrenches built into it, a set of tire levers, a patch kit, this park tool patch kit is my favorite, my second favorite is this park tool patch kit, carry something to re-inflate your tire with, and of course a new tube just in case you can't patch the flat one. You will add on to this as time goes by, I carry a pen, money, a nail (for pushing out the thing that caused the flat in the first place) a small set of pliers, cable ties, electrical tape, etc, etc...
