Has anyone seen this series when it was on the TV? We ignored it but have rented the whole thing and we're really enjoying it.

I was prepared to be disappointed and kill it off after the first disk but I'm very pleasantly surprised. This is a prequel to the whole Star Trek thing. The first Enterprise, first development of stable warp technology and how they started out exploring deep space and the freaks and friends they encounter along the way.

Scott Bakula is Captain Johnathan Archer and he pulls the role of nicely.

They also manage to tie in all the other series and make the whole thing fit.

Never saw it. Did you see the original Star Trek series? If so did you like it? My husband is a huge trekkie so if it's as good as the original I'll have a look.

It's better than the original IMO.

We enjoy all the Star Trek series and movies but I wouldn't classify us as Trekkies.

Right now we're going through Enterprise, Deep Space 9 and Voyager. All three series I missed in their entirety.

Our favorites so far are Enterprise and Next Generation but I like Captain Janeway of Voyager. She takes no bullshit from anyone! Smile

There was some show on SyFy channel that had a history of all the Star Trek captains and how they tied them all together with the original series from the 60's.

I LOVED TNG and was shocked when they ended the show (to make movies, apparently.) Deep Space 9 was cool since I think Ferengis are a kick in the butt but the others ones I didn't really get into too much.

We nicknamed Odo "Silly Putty" because of the way he shape shifts to humanoid form. His skin looks like Silly Putty Smile

The Ferengi's are friggin trolls!

I'm waiting for for season 2 to finally come around for Avery Brooks "new" look. I don't like him with hair and no beard but he is gorgeous shaved and goateed!

Indeed he is, I thought he was hot as hell as Hawk in the Spenser For Hire shows.

Oh I made a mistake - it's season 3 where he changes his look.

Yeah I watched Spencer for Hire too and thought he looked great. I had to keep those thoughts to myself though because my bigoted ex would have fits if I even thought a black man was good looking! Asshole would walk out of a restaurant if he saw black people in the kitchen. To this day, he refuses to accept that I am mixed race and thinks I'm fully white. Moron.
