Awwww....yeah rules suck.

Ah fuck, goddamn kids need to be put in their fucking place once in awhile, life isn't all about getting shit handed to you. They are getting taught a trade, for free, follow the rules or go flip fucking burgers. This sounds like a stint in a play military setting. Just like boot camp or living in barracks or time in the military, you should learn some disipline and some things worth knowing that will carry you through some shit in your actual life.
What's the worst thing that could happen? They have to grow the fuck up?

The staff seems to realize i'm here for my trade and not much else, so they tend to leave me be and focus on the trouble makers. Fortunately the wing i'm in is the best in the dorm bulding as so life is pretty decent here. Not that it's trouble free, apparentally pulling the firealarm at midnight is a favroite pasttime here. You can hear the fights in the wings under ours. Also the cafeteria food is pretty good.... most days.

All the instructors and staff i've met here been good people. The instructors for my last 2 classes are awesome. The one for the trade I want says she hates everyone but I havent seen any evidence to support that. Most of the staff that are assholes seem to keep to themselves.

Good news about my roommates, one is the same kind of crazy as me so we get along well, the other is a bit quiet but could damn near be a professional comediean. And we all like cold weather no one is bitching about pulling the thermostat wire on the room's heater.

I looked at a job corps site, there were age limits or I would have gone myself.
When I say kids I pretty much mean anyone under 30 or anyone still living with their parents, even if they are 50. I'm thinking you have to be an adult to do this anyway, at least 17 or 18, just like going into the military.
A couple years active duty might be good for all the 20 year olds in this country actually.

I still say, adult, kid, whatever, at least Vizzy got off his ass and is giving something a shot.

Do something for yourself to make things better.
Way to go Vizzy, take this oppertunity and run with it.

I wish I would have been smart enough to know about this program when I was young.

I don't know if they had it when we were kids. I know there was Jr. Achievement but that was for school age kids. And we had one teacher who almost talked half the class to join the Peace Corps!

I thought about the Navy but I wound up meeting the ex first.

Vizzy likes to blow things up. I told him the Army and get into munitions would suit him too but I don't think he would have been able to meet the weight requirements to get in.

I meant to agree with you before about kids today needing a little military straightening out. Too many soft kiddies running around with whipering, coddling, and over-lenient parents who also could use a good swift kick in the crotch.
