Heh heh and they run the household... MOM meows when she wants in and out of the cage... talks when she wants extra water or food and generally bosses all the humans around whenever she damn well pleases!

Aww, you need to let mom have her freedom now! Poor thing got so excited when you opened the crate to film her.

Tall box or tall solid divider in a doorway time so she can jump over and out and leave the little ones inside.

There's a second tier in the nursery cage where she can climb up and get some "mom time" if she wants.

She doesn't fail to let us know when she wants out for some time away either and now spends a couple hours at a time away from the babies. She also lets us know when she wants back in to tend to her brood.

At the time I took the video she had just gone back in about 5 minutes before I grabbed the camera. She was excited because I was checking on her and the little ones! When I come home from work she meows until I open the door and pick up each of the kittens. Then she usually curls up to feed them.

Callie is a VERY good momma cat!

We have a playpen for the little ones to run around in.
The Maine Coon is The Doctor (Doc), the calico is Rose and the grey tabby is Rory.
Yeah.......the nursery cage is now being called the Tardis Smile

For those who don't know.......it's all a Dr Who reference. This is a house full of Whovians and Max named Doc so we just went with the theme.

Here's a video of the little nippers.

They'll be climbing out of there in two days if not already!

They're adorable!

Love your heavy breathing while videotaping! Rofl

Wasn't my breathing.
That was Rufus.
He was snoozing back behind me over by the couch.

You oughtta hear that dog snore!

The jingling sounds are Bruce looking around the room and his tags are clinking together.

We keep a good eye on the kittens. They aren't quite ready just yet to run around on their own. The house is just a bit too busy for such little ones. Give them about another 2 weeks and they should be able to handle running free.

I'm sure they will get into all sorts of mischief once they can run free. Biggrin

We have started them on solid food now. They are 3 distinct little kitties when it comes to eating!

Rose is very hesitant and needs to be guided to the food by Barb rubbing some on her lips and then having her follow the finger to the food.

Doc simply goes to the bowl and starts eating.

Rory is aggressive and hits the bowl with a vengeance then growls and "protects" the food by clawing at anything getting near it while eating.

But......they are all getting the idea of solid food and by next week will be weaned from mama's milk. I'm sure Callie is relieved because their little teeth are beginning to irritate her nipples and she complains when they nurse.

If Rose continues to fuss, try using some of that canned cat milk and human baby food flakes mixed with the meat and replace the cereal little by little with the meat.

I like to continue the milk replacer up until they are 14 weeks old. Makes big healthy cats and leaves Momma to dry up and live in peace Smile
