Ah you like that? That was from a motorcycle accident in '95. I was on the back of the bike and we hit a hole 6" deep. The bike bottomed out TWICE, so hard we caught air (on a harley) and it winded me. The extra weight from my halfie helmet caused my spine to compress blowing a mess of disks.

If I had been on my own bike that night, I'd have been able to get off the seat and brace myself with my legs to absorb the shock, but I was on the back and took the full brunt of the thing. I didn't feel anything until around 3 AM when I had to get up to pee and found I couldn't move my head or left arm.

Geeze.....
I once nailed a car, I figure I got it slowed down to about 50 or 60 before I slammed it. I flew over the car and landed out in a yard. Just a night in the hospital and a few weeks on crutches and I was good to go. The bike however was screwed. So was the car.

I would have been better off falling and breaking a back bone, not snapping my neck mind you. But broken bones and bruises heal where a fucked up back soft tissue and nerve damage does not ever.

My ex is a total dick but I will say he is an excellent bike rider and if it weren't for him we would have fallen and landed under a truck or something. It was on a busy 4 lane (2 each way) road.

Hey, that bike you showed me... is that on/off road? one of those dual purpose jobs? I went to the website looking at bikes and there's a lot to choose from! But the one you picked has shock absorbers in the fork, I like that.

I like riding a girls style bike but I always used to get a mens style when I was younger. It was easier to carry on my shoulder over unrideable terrain!

I don't think that bike is true hybrid, more of a mountain bike with slightly less aggressive tires on it, making it more road and bike path friendly, but still good for the dirt, hills, and some mud.
So yeah, it looks like an all arounder to me.
