This kitten wandered into my yard a couple of days ago, its eyes were completely swollen shut infected and the kitten was starving, I rescued it, started it on goats milk, antibiotics its starting to get a little better, it may be able to see from one eye, but the other Im pretty sure is lost.

It will live a full life here even if its blind in both eyes !!!!

If you get the chance give an unwanted animal a chance at life!

Poor little boy! The right eye does look blind and gone. How sad. What is all the blood from or is it just the camera doing that?

Poor guy looks like he's had a case of the mad shits for awhile too. I can see "dirt" on his tail base.

Can he breathe easily? It looks like a horrid case of URI.

Warm up some contact lens saline and you should be able to soften that gunk on his face and wipe it off without it paining him much. I've learned to keep a large bottle of this stuff in the house for wound washing and what not. I used to make my own but this is the perfect mixture and I can rest easy knowing that I didn't make it too 'salty'.

Good luck with him, he's gorgeous.

His eyes are draining, the antibiotics are starting to break up the infection, He was filthy he actually looks better than he did.

His tail was matted a little but he seems to be ok digestively, He is breathing a lot better also.

I will save him if I can.

That is a job you have given yourself. How on earth did he get like that? A young mother who didn't know how to care for him. Thankgoodness you found him. I would wish he makes a full recovery, with your attention that looks on the cards.
Good Luck with him (what's he been called?)

Yeah, that is sad, and it bugs me also that the animal was let go that for.
He went to the right place though.
You know, sometimes I think they know where to go when they need help.

URI in kittens is something that can't always be avoided and worse, stress can bring it out in any cat.

It's also one of the hardest things to battle and get over. I've had many healthy adopted cats turn up snotty and runny eyes within days of coming into my home. It's also highly contagious between cats and humans can pass it on to other healthy cats. Some strains of this infection are very resistant and even harder to cure.

If he was a stray, it's easy to see how he got like that, and he got like that quickly. Havoc's doing a great job with him.

So, any idea on names?

I know that cats are a resilient animal, you almost have to just kill them outright, they can recover from a lot. I've seen them so sick that the vet wants to put them down, hit by cars (same cat twice) we'd give them one more chance and in a couple of days they'd be on their way to a full recovery.

I don't know about a name that sometimes just comes, but he looks like he just won the kitty lottery.

So tell us how he's doing today, and it better be good news.
