Well to put it simply it's Japanese drums, taiko translates to drum. The largest of which weighs in at around 3 tons, is 2.4 meters long, 2 meters in diameter, and made out of a single piece of wood. There normally not transported and are kept in shrines and temples due to there size.
They also occasionally use various stringed instruments and flutes.
