Well, yesterday started out shitty (pun intended!). Woke up to notice there was no Sofie next to me on the bed and found her between the couches in distress. She REEKED of poop and I discover she's just covered in it.
So, I go wash her off and she's really in pain. 5:30AM and I'm off to the ER vet. X-rays show she's constipated. VERY constipated.
So doc goes off and gives her some fluids and a lubricating enema and we go home hoping for the best or we have to bring her back for a sedation and "bath" enema.
She did not like the first enema!
So she's home all day, in distress and I did not see her move to go pee or poop all day. Litter box remained clean. So, we wait for the ER vet to open again and we bring her back. Since Doc Fenwick was on call again we took Wobbles for company and so he can see his handiwork.
Anyway, he examines her and she's apparently pooped. OMG WHERE THEN? WHERE?!!
He x-rays her again to be sure and another enema and we're home.
OMG THE STINK! I don't think there is much worse than "sick poop". She's crapping all over from the enema and very gassy. It was absolutely torture on the way home. She went back to her spot (covered in towels) between the couches and we just left her there, stinky and uncomfortable.
She's so much better this morning. Poor thing is all greasy from the enema, STINKY but she's up and about, had some food and is now stinking it up under my bed. God help me.
For the life of me I cannot find where she emptied out yesterday before the night visit. We scoured the house and under everywhere with flashlights looking for the terrible stench to no avail.

Now I have to wrangle her out from under the bed and wash her tushy from all that grease and stink. Poor thing is being avoided by her bestie too! She stinks so bad Wobbles hissed at her.

So often animal lovers are termed the crazy "?" and tormented. I have however a love for buying animal props. I buy head bands, sweaters, Halloween costumes and more for my best friends animals. (My animals won't wear them even for a second and they tend to take revenge on me)

So this year I was forced to buy Herc, My girlfriends yellow tom cat and LOL the grand Son of our late great Cookie (maine coon) cat. I had to buy the bum a costume that was for a terrier and I almost didn't fit! (too small)

So fat happy neutered that he is Herc is out for revenge!

Please note that Jeanne has 3 dogs and yes they have all fallen into my present giving! Crazy Auntie Barbie has decided to substitute them for grand children until her daughter is read for her grand babies!

Herc was pissed only endured the outfit for about 4 minutes and is still pretty pissed, I think he knew he was a monkey, The dogs however love the attention. Herc, not so much, he prefers to just run the house and be a king.
The tip of her tail appears to have been broken but is healed now. We lured her inside and after only a few days she has made herself at home. She MUST have been around a dog or dogs because Rufus didn't phase her at all and as a matter of fact she likes him.

Yesterday was rough. Mikki was slowing going downhill and we decided after Matt gets home it's "time".

She was pacing the same pattern for hours yesterday and she fell into the water dish and nearly drowned. If I wasn't home she would have.

Poor scrounge cat. She did have 5 good years and I feel good about that. We buried her under the Rose of Sharon in the back of the house.

It was awful in the vet's office too. Every dog that came in had to be PTS. We had a 4 hour wait while she argued with 2 people to do the right thing by their dogs and put them down. They both wanted to take the animal home and let it suffer to death. One was a boxer with bloat and torsion whose heart rate was well over 250 BPM. He did the right thing overall. The other guy was some vicious little beast who was bleeding from her sinuses and vomiting puddles of blood. It was a literal blood bath in the office. He refused treatment, medication to keep her comfortable and took her home to let her bleed to death slowly.

Dr. Laura was really upset over that one. She hates having to do "it" as it is, but when you have people you have to actually convince it's the right thing to do it makes that task so much harder. I felt so bad coming in to do that with the cat too, but she at least knows that when we come in for that business we are sure, correct and not hysterical crying making it even harder on her. People think that shit is easy for the vet to do and it's not.
Anyway, Mikki is resting nicely in the yard.

Orange Bob showed up a few days ago.
He's very friendly and loves our food. He's wearing a collar with reflectors on it. I'm gonna find out tomorrow about getting him scanned and see if he by chance has a chip. I've put ads on Craigslist and answered on a long shot ad from the Rochester area about a missing orange cat with no tail, it wasn't him.
I gotta get this guy back home or find him a new home. Who wouldn't want a nice friendly Orange Bob?
