I'm sure TK can substantiate that it's still pretty common practice to 'strangle' dogs during training. I can't believe there are PROFESSIONAL trainers out there who get away with that shit, but they do. I've witnessed it. Granted, they don't strangle the dogs TO DEATH, but it's still a horrible, cruel practice. It's using done by literally 'hanging' the dog (or puppy) with its leash, usually just lifting the front feet off the ground, but sometimes the rear ones too.
I should have turned the bitch in I saw doing that in CA one time. She was a pretty popular trainer too. The dog I saw her do it with was probably a 5-6 month old Australian Cattle Dog. Crazy.
