Just caught it myself.
You really couldn't classify Charlie as country, or rock, or southern fried, or southern blues........but he fit ALL of those categories. He had a style and sound that was uniquely his and you could recognize a Charlie Daniels song when hearing it for the first time.
Most certainly an innovator in music.
