He went from a fearless friendly cat with his tail held proudly aloft to a fearful old man cowering in his carrier every damn time I took him to the vet's which was way too often and with little benefit. He would have been better off if I had just left him to lounge comfortably at home enjoying his last months but hindsight is 20/20.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda....there's no right answer. We just try our best.
We had one a year or two ago, he showed up one day and we only had him for about a year. He was the coolest, easiest going, laid back cat I've seen in a long time. Then one day it hit him like a ton of bricks, they next day we had to say goodbye. Did we miss something? Could we have done more? Who knows, we did what we could and we all had a good last year with him.
Anyway......things are still chugging along in my neck of the woods, back to work tomorrow after a week off for vacation.
It sounds like the positive cases are still fairly low around here with only single digit deaths in this county. It also seems like most nursing homes are fairing pretty well too.
Walmart was fully stocked this morning except for sanitizing wipes and cleaning stuff.
