Back then the speed limit would have been 55mph all around and that Datsun was giving it all it had. It seemed like we kept going faster and faster the closer we got to the city. I also learned what gridlock meant on that trip, you see we don't do gridlock around here, there is usually plenty of time for both cars to get through an intersection when the light changes.
Gridlock is just normal in the city and highly congested areas during the morning and evening rush hours. Been like that as long as I can remember.
