LED lights don't generate much heat when they're on and that's what determines the lifespan of light bulbs. Now that 22.5 years figure is explained on the box as determined by their "average use hours".
If you still have the box take a look and see what the figure is.
Judging by the way the LED lights on tractor trailers hold up, they DO last way longer than traditional lighting.
