Or...put a small "O" ring on a sheet metal screw and run it in the hole. It's been working on my air compressor tank for a few years now. I doubt that your gas tanks gets to 100 psi.
They also used to have some stuff to fix steel tanks. It was like an epoxy, it came in two strips, you kneaded them together and smushed it on the bad spot. Worked like a fucking champ.
