Out here we get road construction after we find where the money from taxes for it went (IE: swindled by some politician) then debate about it for another 10 years then start the project, halt it under the guise of ran out of funds only to find some other dipshit politician swindled it and we have to raise taxes to fund the project for completion.
When I first moved here road construction and the roads were awesome, then they decided to let union workers do the work. Now when roads are resurfaced it's not much better than it was with the pot holes. Example is manhole covers. When you resurface normally they would add a metal ring - similar to a big, thick washer to the new height of the road surface so you don't damage your million dollar rims driving over it. Now, not so much. Manhole slalom is my new sport.
