I used to do the same when doing light riding there was a place I used to ride alot dont know if you heard of it. Its called hartshorne woods park, back in 2007 I road there. I landed a log step bad because it rained the night before and my front tire sunk into the mud right before the log and my shock totally compressed. Needless to say I flew off the front of my bike it went into air and landed on me. In the process I landed on and shattered the little bones in my left wrist and the way I came down the side of my head landed square on a giant rock. My helmet literally exploded into pieces but my head was perfectly fine. Earlier that day before I was about to ride I was considering not wearing a helmet cause it was too hot and I said to myself I was going to do some light trail riding no big deal. Had I decided to listen to myself instead of just doing the right thing I would have died that day. No matter how light of a ride your going to take or uncomfortable helmet will be that day there is too much we have too little control over for the temporary enjoyment to be worth dying over.
