The band and extended family are doing a BBQ/jam session today.
Pretty much it's everybody bring something to contribute to the food and booze supplies. Jeanne has the main course stuff covered so covered dishes, junk food, deserts and picnic fare from whatever everyone brings will fill out the table.
We're taking some really good sharp cheese, deviled eggs and potato salad. I always have at least a case of beer in the fridge over there and I'll tote along my bottle of Kracken and Barb is bringing her Meyers Dark Jamaican.
Plenty of "in house" stuff there too as Jeanne's neice works at the state store
(that's a liquor store for you non-Pennsylvanians) and grabs stuff that's on sale then gets an employee discount on top of that. It works out great because you get to try stuff without having to buy it and get stuck with a whole bottle if you don't like it!
Between me being an amateur mixologist and Drew our drummer who works part time at the Elks as a bartender we can make nearly anything without having to look it up as long as we have all the ingrediants. We have even invented drinks on the fly from time to time and file them as "Blowin' Smoke specials" if they go over.
Good friends, drinks, food and a combination of live music and DJ volume/quality jams.......ya can't go wrong with a 4th of July party like that!
