I think a lot of this bullshit starts at the local level and creeps up too. People get frustrated when they don't feel protected and the push for things they think they need and it snowballs from there. Then there are the areas where you cannot have guns. I honestly think a LOT of the dictatorial stuff begins there. If you cannot protect yourself you are now vulnerable and suckered into thinking "someone" is going to be there to protect you. The people become more and more dependent on government and will allow too many things to be taken from them under the guise they are being taken care of. This snowballed to the 'entitlement' attitude we have now.
As for the cops acting like storm troopers - they're pretty 'cunty' here for the most part. There are a few pleasant individuals scattered about here and there, but since I've been in Jersey, 1988, the cops were always self-righteous pricks. To this day, NYC cops are very pleasant to talk with and don't have that storm trooper attitude. I'm sure there are some pricks amongst the bunch (before someone says how wrong I must be), but every time I've had to deal with a NY cop I've never gotten attitude like I get here.

I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head
