I'm the same way. I've learned to prepare for the worst, expect the worst and if it's an acceptable or more than happy outcome, I'm not disappointed.
They would be major pricks if they try to make you put WallyWorld over school and education, especially since you're doing so well. And yeah, force them to let you go, don't walk out. If they don't fire you, you work the schedule you feel fit and then they'll be sure to fire you. GET IT ALL IN WRITING whatever the outcome is. and make sure that if you're fired, they make say because you refuse to lower your school hours to work for them. or some shit like that - as long as they look like asses for it. But get it all in writing.
