I push for endurance when I go out. It doesn't have to be 'speed' as long as it makes me stronger. I usually relax on the downhill, but use it to get me over the next hump.
But I am in it to build up my strength. I also carry my smart phone and play my favorite Classic Rock, through my Bluetooth stereo headset, to keep my juices pumping. Nothing like a little bit of "Don't Tell Me You Love Me", "No One Like You", or "Addicted To Love", to keep the excitement going.
