Getting rid of my Honda 750 in '73 was the smartest thing I ever did. Several days before selling it, I had left one of the ranges I ran, at Ft. Jackson. Heading home on I-26 I was doing about 110 weaving in and out of traffic, and suddenly it hit me. "You know, getting shot at is a whole lot less deadly than this If I should lose it. I had to stop at the side of the interstate and get over the shakes before making it home.
Next day, I put the thing up for sale and was more than happy to see it leave the driveway.
Naturally, I kept on jumping out of airplanes, because that was a whole lot safer, and a whole lot more fun.
