Ha, ha, ha, CAKE FAIL!
Last night I decided to bake a cake after dinner. No box mix, from scratch so I grab my cookbook and follow the recipe to the letter. The thing is, I thought it was odd that the recipe called for two types of flour and no sugar. I figured, what the hell, I've been using this book since I was 9 and it's never failed me yet.
it did now! The mix was so thick and gooey, smelled like weird bread but I baked it anyway. NASTY. It was a tasteless, heavy as cement but rubbery hunk of ick.
I now have a proper golden cake in the oven. The batter tasted normal
Home made chocolate frosting with toasted almonds will go on top.
I also made the most awesome diner last night. Broccoli and chicken saute with garlic and white wine. I'm going to make the same thing again tonight only with asparagus. I can eat that stuff every day. Yum.
