Well, you know you have probably heard me say this a few times before. The seat has to be right for you, it has to fit you so your sit bones are supported not your soft bits in the middle, and no matter how good the seat is you gotta get up off of it now and again.
Basically you should probably try it out. Now I don't know if a bike shop is gonna let you try one for a few days, some guy on e-bay sure the hell won't let you try one. But places like nashbar are like wal-mart, they will take pretty much anything back.
I had a $50 seat from nashbar, I put like 20-30 miles on it and didn't like it, and just sent it back, then got lucky and really liked the next one.
