0 The steel can stain but there is a solution if it does - Oxyclean. Makes that thing look brand new. Just throw a spoonful in the bottom, fill with scalding hot water and let it sit a couple hours. Wash and it's going to sparkle! I use it to clean all my steel pots and especially coffee pots and their parts.
