Holy shitstorms Batman! 40 hours without electricity.
The actual storm wasn't that bad here. There were some high winds but nothing near hurricane force. I'd estimate the gusts were up to around 55 mph and sustained winds were around 35 - 40 at the worst. Rainfall could have been worse but the ground is pretty saturated and any rain in the next 3 days could cause flash flooding.
The real pisser is that in this area only the circuit that I'm on and another just over the mountain wewr the only ones off more than an hour or two. Fucking PPL......Pennsylvania Power Light (or as we call it Piss Poor 'Lectric) gets around to our circuit last every damned time.
I know for a fact that it was ONE CRUMMY TRANSFORMER FUSE that was the culprit and without even trying I could narrow it down to 2 different ones that could be it. If I went out and stopped at each I could even have given them the friggin pole numbers.
But I digress. Not much in the way of real damage here. Very few trees down and zero wind damaged structures. Irene was a fizzle as hurricanes go and I'd rather prepare for the worst and have that happen than blow it off then holy shit it's a fucking cat 5 100 miles inland!
